Project Overview:

A new £500m award winning shopping centre in the heart of Bristol.

Hayes Manufactured and installed 10 unique bridges. This project proved particularly challenging due to the location. Access was only granted at weekends in the early hours to minimize disruption to traffic and due to it being adjacent to the busy Broadmead shopping centre.

The bridges incorporated Macalloy bars which not only give them a pleasing aesthetic but also perform and important structural function.

The bridge structure was manufactured from fully welded plate forming box section. The thickest plate was 50mm involving full penetration butt welds with ultrasonic examination to a high specification.
